From black mold to clean roof
Mold and mildew turned sections of this roof completely black. Watch as we use our soft washing process to clean these dirty shingles, and bring them back to their original color.
For this cleaning, we did NOT use pressure, but instead used our 12v soft wash system to apply a 5% solution of sodium hypochlorite and surfactant.
If your roof is showing dark stains or streaks, don’t risk pressure washing it! Trust the soft wash experts at Radiant Clean to make your home look new again.

Why roofs should never be pressure washed
The black streaks on Florida roofs are a living algae (Gloeocapsa magma), not dirt. High pressure strips the protective granules from asphalt shingles, can crack tile, and can void a manufacturer’s warranty — and it doesn’t kill the algae at the root.
Soft washing applies a sodium hypochlorite and surfactant mix at low pressure, so the algae, mold, and lichen die off and rinse away without damaging the roof. Soft-washed roofs typically stay clean for 2 to 4 years, depending on shade and moisture.
