Cleaning Black Mold on Stucco and Soffits
You need more than pressure when removing mold and algae
This Tampa house had serious black mold issues on its soffits and fascia, as well as algae and mildew on the stucco siding. We used our soft wash method to safely downstream a 1.5% sodium hypochlorite (SH) solution to remove the organics. In tougher areas we used our dedicated soft wash system, which uses a 12v pump, to apply a more aggressive 4% SH mix to kill stubborn organics.
Note that while we use our pressure washer to downstream during house washing, we're not using pressure! We use a low pressure, adjustable tip that safely streams eight gallons per minute of water, which washes away dirt, grime, etc.
This house obviously hadn't been washed in a long time, if ever. That's why we recommend twice yearly house washings in the Tampa area, especially if you have trees or shade that encourage organic growth.
